Your Medical Records – Online?

September 25, 2009

One of the big points inside the healthcare debate is how to cut costs from the system. Streamlining information has proven to cut cost, but what about privacy?

Wired.com reports that one man wants to remove legislative obstacles that would open access to patient medical records. Some say that this would allow patients to share their experiences with others who have similar conditions. It would also give doctors more data about the impact of treatments. Others say the data is private and should remain that way.

What’s your opinion?

Operation: Can You Hear Us Now?

September 17, 2009

“October 17th, 2009 could be a great day in American history. The so-called “media” is complicit with big government and the party in power. Politicians USED to be afraid of the media – no longer! Now, the “media” is the mouthpiece of the government!”

Operation Can You Hear Us Now has a great idea. They are planning Tea Parties at mainstream media outlets simultaneously all over the USA on October 17, 2009. This is a great way to Be Heard, Not Herded!

ACORN Plays the Race Card

September 17, 2009

With serious heat and light now shining on ACORN, Bertha Lewis, the group’s CEO told ABC News that all the negative attention is a “modern day form of McCarthyism” and said ACORN’s efforts help make sure “poor people, young people, minorities are participating in this democracy.” She went on to say that “There is an undertone of racism here. I think they’re basically saying these people shouldn’t be trusted, how could they be trusted? You know, they’re all poor black and brown people.”

Meanwhile FBI Director Robert Mueller said yesterday that he had only recently heard about the ACORN videos but that given the preliminary information, it is the type of thing that the FBI and Justice Department “would look at.”

ACORN Stung…Again!

September 17, 2009

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles have done it again.  Their fifth video was filmed at the ACORN office in San Diego and it appears that the ACORN worker actually offers to help bring under age girls to the USA for the purposes of prostitution.  To see it, please visit www.BigGovernment.com

Many people say that ACORN should lose all federal funding.  They were on track to receive Billions next year.  I agree and so do all but 7 US Senators…good luck to those 7 in getting re-elected!  But I have a bigger issue with ACORN.  How many real criminals have they helped break federal and state laws against prostitution, tax evasion and fraud, among others?  Can you say RICO?  Why is the FBI not at every ACORN office in the country right now sifting through email and other records?  Who is protecting this organization and why?

What’s new from the Left? The GOP is too Crazy to be Racist

September 17, 2009

Yes, I read the Huffington Post from time to time.  And their blogger John Bohrer agrees that the Tea Party Movement is not Racist. (John R. Bohrer: The GOP Is Too Crazy To Be Racist  http://bit.ly/ue1Ck)

He says,”… the color of the President’s skin does not matter to the lunatics dictating the direction of the Republican Party. I mean, it it matters in that it’s icing on the cake — but they were baking regardless of all that.

“Scores of Republican activists would have accussed Hillary Clinton of setting up ‘Death panels.’  Rallies would’ve been filled with Hitler mustaches painted on a portrait of john Edwards.  A grandstanding GOP congressman would have shouted ‘You lie’ at President Bill Richardson.”

What surprises me is that Bohrer still thinks that the political opposition movement is a bunch of kooks.  Even after the 912 rally, he has not heard us.  He and others dismiss this as a Republican movement rather than as a citizens movement. (See  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/tea-party)

Luckily, John Bohrer does not have a vote in Congress.  We do not have to influence him.

CALL CONGRESS  AT 202-225-3121.  BE HEARD BY THE PEOPLE WHO COUNT!

ACORN to Launch Independent Review

September 16, 2009

Fox News reports that ACORN will name an independent auditor and investigator to conduct a thorough review of it’s operations.  ACORN CEO, Bertha Lewis said in a statement that “we have all been deeply disturbed by what we’ve seen in some of these videos…I must say, on behalf of ACORN’s Board and our Advisory Council, that we will go to whatever lengths necessary to reestablish the public trust.”

Racism?? — Jimmy gores the wrong ox!

September 16, 2009

Over the past few days I have seen three or four articles on how the opposition to President Obama’s legislative agenda is rooted in racism.  I think that those playing the race card have it 97% wrong.

Obama was not around for the bank bailout. It was Bush.  He did not write the Healthcare legislation.  Pelosi and the House Democrats did.

To forget that opposition to a perceived government takeover of health care was even stronger in the Clinton administration, is to fall back into the old ways of looking at life.  Blaming racism is a convenient way to dismiss the conflict over substance and to divert attention from the real problem facing America today: Enormous deficits. Senate Votes to Cut ACORN Funding

September 15, 2009

FOX News reports that the 83-7 vote would deny housing and community funding to ACORN.  ACORN is suffering from bad publicity after www.BigGovernment.com released several hidden-camera videos of conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.  In the videos taken at ACORN offices in Baltimore, Washington DC, and Brooklyn, NY, ACORN employees give the couple advice on how to purchase a home (that the couple planned to  use as a brothel for young girls) and how to account for income from prostitution on tax forms.

On Monday, Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s chief organizer called the Senate vote a “rare and politically convenient step.”  She also noted that ACORN gets most of its funding from “its members and other organizations, so the decision will have little impact on overall operations.”
